This is why I insist on a female doctor ...

... for anything more complicated than the flu or an ear infection.
I watched these women on the news last night, word's cannot express what they have been through. I feel ill at the thought.

OK, while this is a horrific story, it did remind of this post by Scott Adams (The Dilbert Guy) a few months ago...

In my opinion, the fact that this guy isn't in jail, and why the people who hired him aren't facing criminal actions is part of the problem. The fact that he can no longer practice seems to be a bit weak, since he was probably in the same position when he got the job.

On a different side though, I have heard you should get a doctor of the same sex, and approximatley the same age as you (Unless you're picking a peadiatrician...) since they will be more interested and knowledgeable on issues which you might face.

UK - I agree, the man should be in jail for what he did and the officials should be facing some sort of punishment. They are, afterall, supposed to be ensuring this sort of thing does not happen.
On your 2nd point, yep, my Dr's a woman and around about the same age. Mr Brown prefers a slilghtly older gentleman - who knows what's in his future I suppose.

sweet jesus. this is shocking. ive long been an advocate of same sex doctors for patients and, if possible, i prefer it if my local pharmacist is a woman too. what these ladies went thru defies the imagination.
