... I wouldn't send this back if it was served to me somewhere fancy!
I love to cook, I love to eat, but I'm not very good at the whole "plating up" making it pretty thing. But last night - oooh, it looked ok.What is it? Well, a pea mash with a sort of twist on the Beef Wellington thing - I wrapped seared big, fat, thick veal (given the size I suspect not REAL veal) cutlets (don't you just love meat on a stick?) in some puff pastry and baked them in the oven. The mushrooms went into a sauce rather than traditionally under the pastry and no pâtés were harmed in the construction of this dish (although a nice bottle of Shiraz was totally massacred).
