I'm ready this time ...

... I've got reading material & snacks & a shawl for the hours to be spent waiting around the hospital waiting area. There's $50-odd worth of sterile eye pads, micropore tape and anti-bacterial stuff. All the pain drugs are in a box together with the typed out instructions of what not to mix. The fan is on standby. There's plenty of fruit and things to tempt a sick person. And yesterday I bought a some hospital-grade boxers (he has no shame and will wear any old undies - but not on my watch!) No way are we going to be caught out like last February, not enough anything and only 2 panadine forte. Wish Mr Brown luck, we're in for a bit of a bumpy ride.

Ta CAW, yep, tis his eye he has to get the 2nd one done. He swears it won’t be so bad this time because he knows what to expect – but so do I. The anticipation & stress of it all made me cry last night – blerg I’m not nurse material clearly!

Cowboy up, honey pie. He'll need your strength, and you'll find you amazingly have some.
I wish you both well.

Thank you all - he's home, doped to the eyeballs and eating well. This is how I know he's ok - when he stops eating, then I can REALLY worry.
"Cowboy up"? I've never heard that before, will I get to wear spurs?

Spurs if you want 'em. Why not?

Kevin Millar of the Boston Red Sox Baseball team, who has lived in Texas for many years, introduced us to the phrase "Cowboy Up" during the 2004 season. The Red Sox did indeed "Cowboy Up" and went on to win the World Series!

Good luck with it ALL!
