... our quaffing store was a little low so I ordered a couple of cases of some nice white, to assist the suffering through summer. All slots nicely filled. But then this morning, these were dumped on our doorstep. Mr Brown gave me one of those looks (you know the look, the "you greedy, credit card wielding baggage" look) and I swore I'd not ordered the stuff.
Then it clicked - we have a long-standing order, a case of red & white "wine of the month" arrives at this time every year. And every year we forget about it. I blame the wine.

Is that a bottle of Noble One I spy ?
It should be in the fridge.
That will free up some space ;)
Well, once Ping has checked it out, then there's really nothing more to be said or fuss about, is there?
mmm. and do i spy poachers blend at the top left in the yellow? and the sticky? mmmm. slurpcious.
H&B it's actually a Saddlers Creek sticky, tres good though and always goes in the fridge well before opening. We had a bottle of Noble One last night as it happens, love that stuff.
CAW - tis indeed Poachers Blend, well spotted. A lovely quaffer, a fave at the Brown Mouse House (and only $10 this time, bargain!).
E - Ping is our anti-terrorist device, EVERYTHING is ping-checked before opening or unpacking, NOTHING gets past her - we feel so safe!
Noble One sends me into raptures ... thanks for the tip on the other, i'll check it out !
Noble one - said Roo, ears suddenly straining..hmmm now then, have you tried the Monbazillac Ambrosia?
I like my wine, but I particularly like dessert wine, something I got into in my early 20's, well shacking up with the head wine waiter helped it along, anyhoo I digress....
If you get the chance try it with somethign savoury, foi or a confit du canard - you'll be amazed how well it goes.
Oh and last time we where in NZ, they had some amazing stickies. (sorry, never made it to Oz yet - but be warned I have a good friend now working for Richmond Groves - yeah!)
Oh, glad you like the new outfit, it's my autumn togs, as it's getting chilly now. ;O)
Thank's for the tip Roo, I'm always up for a new wine experience! We've friends in NZ so if I can't find it here I'll ask them to poke around for me.
How did you know DUCK was my favorite and confit my ABSOLUTE fave in the whole world??
Hey - I'm good at that mind reading sort of thing. Actually I just figured that with a decent wine rack, and the preference for dessert wine, there had to be a love of confit in there somewhere ;o)
