... yesterday afternoon while the furry girls and I were enjoying a little pre-dinner outside time, I noticed Ping playing with a bit of stick. Except it appeared the stick moved, which made her pat it and try to pick it up in her mouth. I sprung to the rescue (of the thing and of Ping, in case it was a nasty). A loudly protesting Ping was shut up inside and the thing examined. Twas the most exquisite velvet black caterpillar with gorgeous red, yellow and orange spots and the cutest mono-antenna (fingers crossed that's not due to Ping).
I gathered him up with the aid of some Salvia leaves and popped him safe up high on some zucchini, so Ping could come out again.
