... research continues but I think I've found bees for our backyard, native bees. They aren't blue banded jonnies (they don't hive & make honey together) but they are native, they don't sting and they do make honey! Yay - I now know what I want for my birthday, a native bee hive (with bees) and a pomegranate tree. We used to have one in Canberra but it was planted in the ground so we couldn't bring it to Sydney with us. It produced beautiful fruit but it tasted nasty, this time around I want the eating variety.
