... if, during earth hour, I tape the 80 treasures show on the ABC? All the lights will be off, Mr Brown & I intend to wander to a good viewing point and watch the city go dark. But I really don't want to miss the 80 treasures show, something about that presenter really tickles me. I think it my be his boundless, energetic enthusiasm.

Edited to add - Fzzzt. What a fizzer, Mr Brown & I wandered down to the bridge over the railroad to see what the city looked like sans lights. Pfft, you could still see it. I don't know exactly what I was expecting but it was something a little more dramatic than this.
Lights out! My bottom (photo thanks to smh ...)Still it was kind of fun to eat dinner by candlelight, we may do that more often.

Cheating.
Then again, turning your lights off to save the world from global warming is akin to trying to hold back the tide by waving your arms in the air.
Kanutism at its finest.
So we cheated and I'm glad - twas a good episode. As for saving the planet, no it wasn't going to do that, but I was interested to see what difference if made to the light pollution. Didn't see anymore stars last night, perhaps we should have gone and visited the observatory.
ooch !
I can see where that candle is scorching the underside of your mantle !!
And yes, that is a pretty pathetic lights-out pic of Sydney :(
THAT was lights out. Geeze. I would have watched Aunty too. I dont consider it cheating in the context that no one else seemed to turn all their lights out either!
Ahh yes, the mantle, I hate it and one day it will be replace with something much nicer, in pale wood I hope.
The lights out was pretty pathetic, what gets me is the media is singing its praises, calling it a great success - pfft.
