I need to move my eating plants closer to the kitchen/access door.
I inherited a kind of 'greenhouse' with this home, and I *love* it. My basil is rocking .. it is however .. a million miles away if you can't be fagged/it is raining etc.... bah ! Lazy me.
Is that a potted Jacaranda in the 2nd pic, behind a fruiting plant ??
Looks like a pic that could be from my collection :)
It does look a little ike a Jacaranda doesn't it but no, that's a Curry Leaf tree, I've got to be careful not to overharvest it the poor thing. The other potted tree is the Bay Leaf - I've read that dried are better but I don't think you can top fresh Bay Leaves. The Bay is growing mysterious little green fruit at the moment, I'm wondering if they would taste of Bay too.
ooo, you have inspired me to post some pics of our gardenette. our plantaloons are getting frozen by the ice so we have to move them about every 2nd day so they dont friz to deff. i'll upload some shotage in the next day or so. sob. i miss jacarandas. my kingdom for a purple carpet! and fresias too. do you have fresias DMM?
hey h&b - i was just reading thru your booklist - have you read 'stinky cheeseman'? it's the bestest take on fairy tales i've read in ages. it's about 10 yrs old now, but the humour still lives large.
That purple carpet can be most slippery to the unsuspecting barefooted gardener CAW - & yep, we do have fresias but they won't come up again till spring, see http://dancingmorganmouse.blogspot.com/2006/08/spring-has-sprung.html
Fresias always remind me of being 4 and running around my Nanna's backyard with a little red plastic cricket bat. I'm going to investigate the growing of fresias in my garden - I do not know if they are grown in the United States of a Miracle, but I will find out ...

cause they'll grow, probably better than here if you have cold winters, bulbs mostly like cold winters. Good luck.
