I'm not a big fan of xmas ...

... the Brown-Mouse house is atheist afterall. But it is all pervasive and we participate with (relatively) good humour in all the feasting and such.
But I read this today and the last line, from a Muslim person - "You get days off, cheap deals on shopping and a chance to get together with the family. What's not to like?"
Yeah, what she said.

But she's wrong !!
Everything is marked UP as retailers know you HAVE to buy for Uncle Arthur et al !

Prices drop briefly in February, as they clean out in readiness for Easter .. and on it goes ...

Craziness.

Oh .. ok .. yes ;)

I went to the Boxing Day sales once ( about 10yrs ago ), and watched my g/f basically try to rip a shirt in half trying to vie it from the hands of another. I tend to avoid hype like big sales, so I forget ...

I also dislike "Department Stores" for fashion. Boutiques within stores ( aka: Myer & DJ's ) leave me cold.

I think i'm the only one though :)
