This afternoon at 5:35pm (so it was still light) I was waiting at the Hay Street station and I saw a big fat black (possibly dark brown) rat pop out of a little round hole in the gutter, scuttle along the gutter for a bit and go down the stormwater hole. In a matter of minutes a second rat did exactly the same thing. In broad daylight! Cheeky buggers.
It's not that I don't like rats, my sister's pet rat, Vivian, was perfectly charming. Even if he did have the habit of coming into the shower recess while you were in there and licking your ankles. But gutter, sewer type rats. Don't like em.
